I had a silicone implant placed in my nose from a rhinoplasty years ago. I’ve since heard that silicone implants are very bad. Is this true and should I have it removed and replaced with something else?
I do not like foreign implants in the nose due to their risk of infection, shifting or extrusion but if the silicone nose implant is stable from many years ago then you may want to leave it alone and only change it if problems start to occur. It is up to you and your plastic surgeon. Talk to him about the pros and cons of each approach. There is no right or wrong answer on this type of revision rhinoplasty question.
