I am 26 years old, male and have a hump on my nose that I would like to have made smaller. I don’t want it entirely removed. When the hump is removed, does that modify any other aspect of the nose, like does the tip of the nose point downward a bit more?
Hi. Changing the dorsal hump does not need to affect the tip however changing one view such as the profile will somewhat affect the other views as well. This is why I insist on doing computer imaging so my patients can see what their noses may look like before going through rhinoplasty. That way, I can show you what a partial hump reduction would do to the look of your face, nose and tip and we can decide if its a good idea or not or if other procedures are also needed during your rhinoplasty. If the tip is droopy to start with, hump removal will make it “look” even droopier which would need to be addressed during your nose job.
