Question : Is the nose examined during a consultation for rhinoplasty? Is this painful?
Answer : The nose is examined inside and out and the rest of the face and even height and age and sex of the patient are noted because ultimately the nose has to fit the individual. The tip and septum and nostrils have to be examined as is the skin thickness and smile. These are all important to the rhinoplasty. It is not painful but it examination of the septum may startle some patients.
