Hello, Im 29yrs old and not married YET.
So I have a hole in my nose lower linner/separater also from the use of ……..I lost the cute shape of my nose I use to dislike also think I could use a face lift in the near future. So im asking if you ever had any patients with my problem and if its fixable. I’ve been clean for a very long time now and I think this would be a great gift to myself for my 30th birthday November,20,2010
Hi, Septal perforations can occur from a variety of causes: Cocaine use, nose picking, previous septoplasty or rhinoplasty, Tuberculosis, Syphilis, Trauma, Wegener’s collagen vascular disorder, etc.
Repair of a hole in the septum is possible but it is very difficult. Small holes are easier to repair. Larger ones are often left alone or repaired with microvascular free flaps. Many times, the external nose can be improved without undertaking the major reconstructive repair of the hole in the septum.
You are way to young to need a facelift. Most likely you would benefit from a good skincare regimen and minimally invasive in office procedures like Botox and Fillers and Lasers.
I would have to see you to examine you before I tell you if this is something I would be able to repair for you or if I think you should see more of a reconstructive Plastic Surgeon. While my practice is focused on the face and especially so on Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty, and I have done hundreds of reconstructive cases for many years, I tend to refer the reconstructive cases to academic centers such as Johns Hopkins University for microvascular free flap repair of large septal perforations.
